BCS Archers Compete

Twenty students from Baldwin Christian School competed in the Minnesota Region 3
Open NASP Archery Tournament in New Prague, Minnesota on Saturday, February 28.
The top finishers from BCS were Stephen Hokanson (grade 10), Aaron Rens (grade 9)
and Moses Bratrud (grade 12). In all, 290 students from 11 different schools
participated.
BCS students were introduced to the archery program in fall of 2008. The New
Prague tournament was their first competition. They are scheduled to shoot in
Stillwater on March 13 and at the Wisconsin State Archery Competition in
Wisconsin Rapids on March 27.
The NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) is a physical education course
that covers archery history, safety and technique and helps students improve
their ability to concentrate and focus. During training and competition, the
students shoot bulls-eye targets placed in front of an arrow resistant net in
their school gymnasium or other facility. The equipment they use is state of the
