“The name of the Lord is a strong tower”

September 17, 2007

The Annual Society Meeting was held last Monday evening.  Kurt Swanson and Erin Mitchell were elected to the school board.  Thank you to outgoing board members Tom Chevalier and Bill Raihala!

School times - Preschool children will be dismissed at 3:00pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays.  Remember to always look for them before driving in the school lot.

Reminder: If you need a paper copy of the Home Bulletin, request it from Penny Engel (684-5976).  Please have any information or announcements in by the end of Friday.  There is a box in the office.  Access to any emails is not yet available.

Blue Recycling Bins- They will be located in the office & each classroom.  They are for recycling paper products such as: notebooks, magazines, cardboard, office paper, and newspaper.  Regular trash should be placed in the dumpster closest to the building.  Thanks for your cooperation in our recycling efforts!

Please remember to have two pairs of shoes to help protect our carpets, bring in a large box of Kleenex, and return the permission slip and Emergency Information form.

Upcoming Events: The first Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) has been set for Friday October 12.  Please note this on your calendar.  More information will follow.

CANDY BAR SALES:  Your child will be coming home with an order form for candy sales.  If you wish to participate, return your order form to the school by Friday September 21.  Any funds you raise will offset the cost of your tuition.  Any questions?   Call Wendy Jacob 684-5988.

Band Students: The Baldwin-Woodville School District opens band up for students in the 4th- 8th grades at BCS.  There are currently four 7th & 8th grade students involved.  The students rideshare Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays to Viking Middle School in Woodville for a 30-minute class.   For more information, call Mr. Becker (VMS) at 698-2456 ext. 110 or Mike/Karen Hollabaugh (796-2659) or Michelle Robole (698-3017) or Jane Raihala (796-2178).

Box Tops for Education: Watch the Sunday fliers and grocery store ads this fall for many bonus opportunities, including bonus tops on products, bonuses from stores, and bonuses offered from the Market Place web site.   We’re starting the year with over 1400 bonus tops.

Recipes for School Cook Book: Send to the school office or email to Erica at jecwahl@scenet.net.

Seamstresses: contact Dana Swanson at 698-2684

The cost of milk has increased.  Milk is now 35 cents per carton & a hot lunch including milk is now $1.60.   An adult hot lunch with milk will still be $2.25. This will be effective October 1st.  If the price of milk decreases, then the lunch price will decrease accordingly.  Thank you for your patience.  Please remember to hand in any forms for free/reduced lunches ASAP.  Lunch payments go in the box at the front of the school.  Please pay by check.

Noon recess volunteers: If you would like to spend an occasional lunchtime with your child, consider volunteering for lunch duty.  The time is 11:35am to 12:40pm and includes monitoring the lunchroom and watching over the students during recess after lunch.  This gives our teachers a nice break; it helps you get to know the other children in school, and is an encouragement to both the teachers and the children.  Any questions or if you would like to volunteer, call Mike or Karen Hollabaugh at 796-2659 or email at rntrucker@yahooo.com  (note this is a new address).
