“The name of the Lord is a strong tower”

March 31, 2008

Reminder: School starts at 8:10am.

The 3rd quarter ended on March 18.  Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, April 2.

Ebenezer is planning a garage sale in the spring.  As you begin cleaning out closets, items that are still in good condition may become someone else’s treasure at the Ebenezer garage sale.  Items can be brought to the school or taken to the home of Dana Swanson.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

***Ebenezer is looking for someone to organize the Fall Craft Sale.  Karen Wevers has been organizing this event for many years.  If anyone is interested in this position, please contact Karen Wevers.  Karen will be available for consultation and help (attendance at the Ebenezer meetings is not mandatory).

Spring has sprung and with it the season for mud & muck!  Please remember that ALL students Pre-K through 8th grade are REQUIRED to have two pairs of shoes, one set for inside and one set for outside.  Please remind your child to stay off the carpeted areas with dirty shoes.  This saves wear & tear on our carpets.  Thank you for your cooperation.

The TOY SHED is not available after school.  It needs to remain locked.  There is too much traffic after school for the students to be playing on the parking lot amongst the cars.  The children’s safety is our top concern.  Please remember there is no playground supervision after the bell rings.

The lost & found is filling up again with the changing of the seasons.  Please check the green bin by the upper grade room for any of your student’s missing items.

Information for the Current products fundraiser will be sent home on Monday, March 31.  Please collect the money when you take the orders and turn it in by April 18.  Fifty percent of the profit for everything sold can be applied to tuition or can be given to the school as a donation.  It will be the parent’s choice.  Please contact Jane Raihala with any questions.

Noon recess volunteers:  The time is 11:35am to 12:40pm and includes monitoring the lunchroom and watching over the students during recess after lunch. Any questions or if you would like to volunteer, call Mike or Karen Hollabaugh at 796-2659 or email at rntrucker@yahooo.com  (note this is a new address).

School News:

*The school program date is April 18.

   * Wanted for 1st & 2nd grade: costumes for 2 elephants, a crab, a spider, a bird, an opossum, a lion, and a monkey.  Please let Miss Schumacher know if you can help.

*The 3rd-5th grades classroom needs more Kleenex.  Please send in another box with the students.  These students also need pencils.  Parents your child is using 1 or 2 pencils per week.  Please refresh these supplies as soon as possible. Thank you

*There will be a field trip to a play and a visit to the planetarium in Eau Claire on April 10.  If you would be willing and available to drive, please let one of the teachers know.

*Preschool news: We would like to heartily welcome our new preschool teacher, Mrs. Buldra, who will be with us through the end of the school year.  Mrs. Wahlquist has indicated that she will not be returning to BCS.  We are very excited to have Mrs. Buldra teaching at BCS and we look forward to the things she’ll be doing in our preschool.  Please continue to pray for BCS and that our actions will always glorify God.

  * This week the preschool students will be working on the letter G and the numbers 1 & 2.  Please try to work on these at home as well.  Our animal of the week is a giraffe.  There is a great on-line story that you may want to visit with your child.  It is a funny, interactive story about a giraffe named Georgina (http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/fullscree/64zoolane/stories/georgina.shtml). ***Please remember to bring a shoebox and a ˝ gallon paper milk or juice carton and label it with your child’s name.  Have a great week!   Mrs. Buldra
