Everyone is welcome to come early for games and hay rides.  There will also be nets set up for volleyball and badminton.  If you have extra racquets, please bring them.  There will also be a bonfire, so feel free to bring lawn chairs and roasting sticks for marshmallows.  In the past, the children have enjoyed playing in the woods, so they might want to bring a flashlight for when it gets dark.  We hope all are able to attend for a night of food, fun, and fellowship.  Please pray for safety and good weather.

Ebenezer Notes: For anyone who does not know, Ebenezer is the support group for the school.  Ebenezer met on Friday the 5th of October.  Erica Wahlquist served a delicious brunch.  She also led a devotion about thankfulness to God, especially for the friends and fellowship, which has developed because of BCS.  Money for the month was dispersed for classroom supplies and new bibles for the middle grade classroom.  The teachers had requested new posters and this was approved.  Ebenezer is continuing to save for new playground equipment and there will be an update to the existing slide to make it safer and that should be done sometime this fall.

The Fall Craft Sale is coming up in November.  Jeanne Curtis will be doing the publicity.  More arrangements and plans will be made at the meeting next month.  There will be a table for the school to sell aprons and American Girl doll clothes.  If you can help sew please call Erica or Karen H.

Recipes are still being accepted for the cookbook.  Please send them to jecwahl@scecnet.net, but will need to be received soon.  The cookbook will need to be in the final stages by early November.

The next meeting will be November 2 at 8:30am, with Dana Swanson serving and having the devotions.  Everyone is welcome.

School Health: If your child has had any additional vaccinations, please send the information to the school office, attention Karen H.  Also, with the beginning of school comes an increase incidence of head lice.  Please encourage your children not to share hats, hoodies, combs, and brushes.  If your child should contract lice, treatment directions are available in the school office or contact Karen H. 796-2659.

Memory Verse:

Preschool

“I am the way and the truth and the life.”

                                      John 14:6

 Grades 1-2

“I have hidden your name in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

Psalm 119:11

Grades 3-5

You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

                                                 Matthew 5:14-16

Grades 6-8

“But godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.  But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.”                  I Timothy 6:6-8
